New Toys and $4,000...

So this past week MacKay and I have spent a lot of money on things to put in our new house.
We went to the Sears Outlet here in Provo and found a huge samsung fridge. Regular price is about $3,000 but they were selling it for about $1,500! So we were pretty excited. It had a few little dents in it, but I'll take the dents and get an awesome fridge at half price! But then the manager said it was on hold for a customer, and that if he didn't get it by the end of the following week that we could have it. So on Friday we went in to see if it was still there. It wasn't, but..... there was another one (exact same) but it didn't have any dents in it, and it was still the half price! so we jumped all over it! We also got a new dryer, a mattress and a 46 inch flat screen! I'm so excited! I feel like the last 4 years of living in this tiny apt are starting to pay off!
Also, some of you know that here in Utah they had done a $6,000 credit for people buying new constructions homes. But they ran out so we weren't going to get it. But we just found out last night that they are bringing it back! (sorry Adam and Erin) It is only going to be for $4,000 this time, but that is $4,000 that we didn't think we were going to be getting! So that is really exciting too. Especially with all the things we still need to get for our house... like a couch! Unless of course MacKay uses the money to buy down our rate.
We will have our final walk though on the 10th and then we will get to move in the weekend of the 18th! Unless of course they mess up and push it back again.

Awesome buys! We are also experiencing the financial dings of buying a house (couch, bedroom set, lawnmower, etc. etc.). With buying down the rate, make sure you do the math, and see how long you'd have to live there to get your investment back, because if it's like 20 years, and you only plan to stay for like 10, the $ is better spent elsewhere. That's what we figured out with rates and points and such. I hope your date doesn't get pushed back!

Yeah, MacKay is all over that rate stuff, I don't know much about it all, but MacKay is a big money, investment, saver, etc... so I'm just leaving it all up to him.
